* Eiffel Tower This is one of the Paris attractions that is the world's most recognizable monument and the best-known monument in all of Europe. It is breathtaking to behold especially if you will be at the top because there you will see the whole of this romantic metropolis. This alone captures 6.2 million visitors in 2002, according to Paris Office of Tourism statistics.

The Eiffel Tower is the tallest structure in Paris which is named after its designer, Gustave Eiffel, an engineer. It stands at 986 feet high, that is about 75 stories. The metal structure weighs 7, 300 tons and the total heaviness is 10, 100 tons. The number of steps to the summit has varied over the time because there were renovations. In 1889, there used to be 1, 710 steps. In the 1980’s, there were 1, 920 steps. At present, it has 1, 665 steps.

* Louvre Museum Arguably the world's most famous art museum, the Louvre's most popular piece is Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa.” Established in 1793, this is one of the oldest Paris attractions and even the whole of Europe. A whopping record of 7.3 million tourists visited the museum in 2005.

The Louvre Museum was formerly a royal palace that is locates between the Seine River and Rue de Rivoli. Part of the grand estate was opened to the public on November 8, 1793 during the French Revolution. This is located at 36, Quai De Louvre, 75001.

* Center Pompidou One of the funky and hip Paris attractions which features a wonderful collection of modern art within its creatively designed building. This alone attracts 5.5 million visitors in a year. Center Pompidou is designed by Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Gianfranco Franchini. It houses the Bibliotheque Publique D’ Information and Musee National D’ Art Modeme (library and museum, respectively).

* Cite Des Sciences Et De I’Industrie With its cool exhibits, this is one of the Paris attractions that captures 2.5 million people annually. This is a fun, hands- on science museum that features all the branches from anatomy, biology, name it, they got it. Cite Des Sciences Et De I’Industrie is the biggest science museum in Europe. It was opened in 1986 where the glass and steel building was designed by Peter Rice. It as planetarium and La Geode, an iMax theater.

* Musee D’ Orsay The Impressionist collection, in this one of the top Paris attractions, is among the best in the world. It is housed in a former railway station which has the atmosphere and personality to match. The Musee d'Orsay attracts 2.1 million visitors annually.

Musee D’ Orsay mainly holds French art dating from 1848 to 1914 including paintings, sculptures, furniture and photography. The building where the museum is located was originally a train station that was first constructed for the Exposition Universelle by Victor Laloux.

* Arc De Triomphe This is one of the Paris attractions that bring in 1.4 million visitors each year. It is a monument that stands in the center of Place De I’Etoile, at the western end of the Champs- Elysees.

Arc De Triomphe stands over 51 meters or 165 feet in height and is 45 meters wide. It is the second largest triumphal arch that has been constructed.
