"Why did I come back? LOL"
This place is BEAU-TI-FULLLL!!!!! Words can not describe my experience, just breath-taking. One of my best friends married there and I was the maid of honor. Site-seeing on the island, I was almost late to the wedding. LOL We stayed there for an entire week, resonably priced and well worth the trip. Visited many different restaurants, the food was great so many different varieties to choose from (from Mediterranean, Moroccan, Indian, to your French type-Bistro Cafes). The resort was stunning, they were out of the ordinary and so comfortable. So the questions lies why did I come back home? I DON'T KNOW, I guess paradise can not last forever.

"honeymoon/hurricane"
Before I chose Paraiso for my honeymoon, I did my homework. I read all the reviews on Trip Advisor, Travel&Leisure, etc.. But what really hooked me, was that I knew someone who recently was married there. After having a long conversation w/ this person( who I trust) about the place, the food, and all the other things that I read about, I decided to book the trip. What a great decision it was. First of all, I am in the people business. Never before have I met such friendly and caring people like the ones who run and work at Paraiso De La Bonita. The owner of this boutique hotel should be proud for what he has. The managers do a terrific job in training their employees. They also will do anything you ask them to do. I sort of wish I could have brought all of them home with me. The grounds of this place are beautiful and VERY secluded( which we wanted). On my honeymoon, I did not want to deal with tons of people and being that Paraiso is pricey, it sort of takes out alot of people from the equation. The room we stayed in was fabulous. We had a ground floor room w/ plunge pool( we didn't even use it). I have stayed at wonderful hotels such as the Waldorf, Rittenhouse, Four Seasons, but for some reason, Paraiso seemed to outshine all of them. The bathrooms are to die for!! Also, the folded robes and bed settings with shell were a nice touch. Very romantic and tasteful. The only thing that they need in the room is more english speaking T.V. stations. The reason I mention this is because we were there the week of Hurricane Wilma and my wife and I needed to keep checking what was happening on radar. I was able to use the computer in their beautiful Library/Bar/Piano room, which did give us up to the minute tracking of this horrible storm. The food at Paraiso was great. We were very impressed with the menus and enjoyed what they offered. The Guacamole and Risotto were especially good and fresh. The food might of been a little pricey, but who goes to a 5 star and complains about price ?? The beach did have seaweed but we really didn't care. We sort of enjoyed sitting in their beautiful pool and getting served their homeade tea while being pampered. Unfortunately, our honeymoon only lasted 3 nights because of the hurricane. We were supposed to stay for 7 nights, but we made the right decision and got out of Mexico before Wilma came ashore. I really hope that nothing too bad has happened to Paraiso De La Bonita. When we left Thursday morning, I actually was quite upset that we had to leave this wonderful place. All I could think about were the wonderful people who cared about us like family and their was nothing we could do in return for them. That was very hard for us. My wife and I had to leave and we will definetly go back to Paraiso when they are functioning again. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Paraiso and the Yucatan. We will be back.....

"Pampering and relaxing"
I just got back from the Paraiso, where i stayed for 3 nights with a good friend. I was surprised by the extreme friendliness of the staff...ANYTHING you need they are more than glad to supply. They remember your name, bring you gifts each night on your pillow ( a different beautiful seashell each night!) Admittedly the food is not spectacular, but it is consistent, creative, fresh and delicious. The wine selection is good, and the variety of food throughout the day is great. We spent one afternoon at the spa, and highly recommend the couples massage on the beach...The water is warm, but yes, it's not what you would expect from Cancun, but then again you don't have a crown either. If you want to be left alone all day, sometimes not seeing another soul (other than the multitude of friendly staff serving you) than this is the place to go. I imagine it's perfect for honeymooners! The rooms are IMPECCABLE! Each room has a different theme, and our room even had a private pool overlooking the ocean. Watch out for the dive-bombing pelicans, the iguanas and the crabs when walking to your room after a few glasses of tequila... Oh and try the mexican tequila tasting, but DON"T try the dolphin swim unless you are 100% sure it's IN the ocean, not at one of these tourist traps: being hearded around with 10 000 other tourists is not my idea of a vacation.

"the perfect honeymoon"
We just returned from our honeymoon at Paraiso de la Bonita, and I can't even begin to describe what a magical experience it was. From the moment we got picked up at the airport, it was impecable service till we got dropped off at the airport again. The driver of the Lincoln navigator offered us water, cool wet towels, and the choice of music. Our room had a bottle of champagne and fruit, and chocolate covered strawberries waiting. The hotel itself is breathtaking, every bit as beautiful as the website pics, and then some. The spa treatments and service is UNBELIEVABLE. we did yoga on the wharf every morning and the instructors were fantastic. and the staff were so wonderful, they waited on us hand and foot and made us feel like we were the only guests, always so friendly and helpful. They knew us by name. by the pool we were always offered a complimentary drink and snack from the chef, the room turn downs were so thoughtful and wonderful. And i keep reading about the seaweed problem, but we didn't notice at all! there was a little seaweed on the sand, and if you waded out far enough the ground beneath had seaweed growing but we though this was nature, and pretty cool. The candles and torches lit in the evening were so perfect, and for our private dining experience we had dinner set up in the infinity pool! we ate with our feet in the water looking out over the ocean! it was a dream. and i also want to say that my husband and i are not rich, and the meals and spa treatments are expensive but well worth the money. Nothing was over priced. I would go there again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it.
