"Love the Fiestas"
I have stayed at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach twice and have always loved every aspect of it. I've also stayed at the Condesa and service, rooms were excellent as well.

"Fabulous Hotel!!!!"
We stayed at the Coral Beach for our 1yr anniverasary Aug 22-28. It was a family trip that was AWESOME!!! We've stayed at 5star resorts all through the Carribean and the Coral Beach TOPS them ALL! The service is outstanding, the pool is Amazing (from one end of the hotel to the other). The rooms are nice and spacious, and kept clean everyday. Another pro is that the Hotel's location is great, it's right near the nightlife(if you're into going out at night). And Also at night in the lobby there playing jazz music-it's just INCREDIBLE!!! You know you're at a 5star hotel when they know you by your name as you enter and leave the hotel. I do not suggest the sister(Condesa) to the resort if you're looking for LUXURY, wasn't able to check out the newest sister resort The Aqua. I did hear that the Marriott is nice also. The food was okay, but you're in Mexico so what do you expect? The drinks are expensive but you're on vacation. It's no different than N.Y. or Miami. We had 7 children with us and they had a BLAST!!!

CONS:
Only thing that we had a problem with in two of our rooms (5rms total) was there's little nats (bugs) on the walls, tables, and on the couchs (sitting area). We complained and was immediately transfered to another room, which was fine. So be carful with the little nats, mainly if you have children(one of my cousins got bitten).

Besides that everything is TOP SHELF! And will only stay at the Coral Beach when we return. When they say One of The Leading Hotels of the World, this is it!!! Hope you Enjoy your stay because we did!!!!!!!

"Great hotel!"
Booked hotel at last minute for 25th wedding anniverary after researching many hotels in the Caribbean. Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. Pool was beautiful, food was good and room was spacious with a spectacular view of the ocean. We received a bottle of complimentary champagne in our room which was a nice touch. Room service was very quick and they will set it up on your balcony if you wish. Only thing I would say are that drinks are pricey, restaurants are probably the same price as good quality restaurants in the U.S., but having said that drinks and food are nearly always higher in hotels. We would definately return with or without our children.

"Our Favorite - But Yes Not Perfect"
When I read the titles, I was at first a little disappointed. However, as I read on I must agree. We have been to Cancun about 8 times since 1992. We have stayed at FAGCB 6 of the eight times. The first two times we stayed elsewhere. I would still recommend FAGCB, however, the front desk is a bit disorganized. I would say the management is not what you would expect from such a facility. I will comment first on the others concerns.
As for the views and crazy room assignments and the telephones, I must agree. We have had the same problems on at least two occasions. The doors slam because the outside sliding doors are left open and create suction which pulls them - and please don't be in the way when they are on their way closing - you WILL get hurt. But then again, that is the guests choice to leave the outside door open - unfortunate when you have neighbors who allow them to slam.

Second of all, as to the all inclusive, I will stongly disagree with Cancun. We have been to Jamica, Aruba, Bermuda, St. Lucia and on many cruises just to name a few and the all inclusives are great there, but Cancun keeps their prices affordable at the all inclusives but the food in not acceptable. We have had friends stay at the Riu and hated the food. The same food items every day served buffet style. The first hotel we stayed at over Valentines Day '92 at that time was not an all inclusive but the food was horrible - how can you mess up a plate of Spaghetti - well it was uneatable. They have since become an all inclusive, I believe it the the Crown Princess - it was a Holiday Inn Crown Princess or Paradise Club something like that. However, a friend of mine stayed there with their extended families including the kids and they stated the same. The food was horrible. What to do after you spent your money budgeted for food with the cost of the facility. Time after time I have heard the same. However, I have heard great things about places like the Moon Palace and areas located in the Riveria Maya. It is a bit longer drive from the airport, away from the lively nightlife and upbeat/upscale shopping, but only a bus or taxi ride away and a quieter place with great all inclusives.

We had a situation where our door would not shut tight unless intentionally pulled tight. With the maid staff entering the room at least twice a day for service, and they not realizing this situation we found our door ajar on a few ccassions. The last time we had two rather expensive watches stollen from the room and the mgmt. would do nothing because we did have a room safe. We felt that they were not diamond jewelery or bundles of cash and after morning breakfast when we were in a rush to get to the beach, the desk would do - well we were wrong and they never did do anything about it but verified that only our assigned room keys and housekeeping had actually opened our doors. None one else had a key and entered and therefore were not responsible. We feel that a door ajar was just asking for visitors, however, not welcomed ones. Also, back around '98 when were there for a business convention we rented bikes to take a nice leasurely tour of the area. The bike that was assigneed to me had an issue with the seat staying locked into place. It would pivot from side to side and up and down. After stopping to tighten this thing numerous time through our probably 15 mile one way trip so far, we were at the bridge where near town and saw a hugh dark cloud heading our way. We then decide to get back on and head back to the hotel. Well, we did just that but the storm was faster. We were riding on the sidewalk/bikelane. It becan to rain. Tring to fit between the hedge lined property of a hotel and some rude people who would not yield with my seat twirling around, rain beating on us, I wrecked the bike. Lost control hit into the hedges and landed a few feet in front of those people who not only were not willing to yield, they just stepped over and around me and never asked if I was okay or helped me get up. Well, by then I told my husband and others with us - IM DONE - I jumped into a taxi, the tour guide radioed to the hotel that I was coming - I had hurt my right leg etc. Awaiting at the front door was the mgr, with a wheel chair and wisked me up to an office where a doctor appeared. I was willing for him to clean and bandage it but nothing else - too many stories came to mind. Well, for the balance of that trip they did bend over backward - I think they were afraid of a lawsuit. By the way, they no longer rent bikes! Surprised? Well, the property is the best, the service in the lounge, restaurants and at poolside are unbeatable - it is just the front desk/mgmt. I always feel like I am asking for something for nothing. As for restaurants, I could give you a list of more than a weeks worth that is within close enough
proximity to the hotel. For Italian - Italiano's or La Madonna - both in the same area in a mall plaza - I'm sorry not sure of the shopping plaza name - something like Plaza Viva - for the best Steak - it is a Brazilain steakhouse located in the mall with Hard Rock and is on the second floor. The Plantation is also one of my favorites - you can pick your own lobster right from the water where they have harvested them that day - locally. Also, owned by the same is I beleive the name is Langostinos - it is side by side with The Plantation. Bogarts is awesome atmosphere great food selection, a bit pricy but is located just across the front driveway of FAGCB. La Joya which is located right inside the lobby of FAGCB is also very good. We found the way to eat here is to buy the food vouchers. You will use a certian number depending on the meal (breakfast/dinner) and the restaurant you choose to eat. For children under either 10 or 12 & under they eat free from these restaurants. The breakfast is 2 or 3 coupons and the dinner at La Joya (pronounces La Hoya) is I beleive 3 or 4. I cannot remember. But the breakfast is the most awesome buffet you can imagine with all of the local breakfast items as well as american, including Bloddy Mary, Mimosa, smoked salmon (lox), made to order eggs and omlets. Fresh fruit and juice, pastries. Anything and everything you could imagine to see and more. The La Joya restaurant with the vouchers includes an appetizer, salad, entree and even dessert all of of your choice. The only thing that is not included is the lobster or maybe for an extra few $$. The vouchers were a great find. We were given vouchers when we were there with a business convention on one of the most recent trips and then asked on the last personal trips and how they worked. They were the best way. Cancun also has many American chain restaurants for those who wre more comfort with familarity. Johhny Rockets, TGIFridays, McDonalds, Pizza Hut just to name a few. Well, I hope this did give some insight from a frequent guest of the FAGCB and Cancun.
