"The Good, The Bad, & The Pool you can not use."
Arriving in the world class lobby at the CasaMagna makes anyone feel like a King. Hotel employees are very friendly & professional. Asked for a complementary upgrade and got a 6th floor beautiful room overlooking the ocean. Great room. Significant construction noise thoughout our stay though. Depends what kind of traveler you are. If you want very nice restaurants and a tremendous pool area, go next door to the JW Marriot and you will be extremely happy. The CasaMagna has great rooms, great staff, great views, and great lobby areas-BUT there is no comparison between the pool at the Marriot's CasaMagna pool (very loud, Vegas type with older men in speedos and 20 somethings ready for a Green Day concert, and too many kids) and Marriot's JW right next door (incredible infinity edge blissful pool, almost three times larger than Casa Magna with quiet sexy atmosphere)!! Believe me-I am no "snob" here, just want you to enjoy your vacation thoroughly. If you have kids and are not on a semi-romantic getaway with your partner, go with the Casa! If not, go next door to the JW! And even though a very nice temperature controled walkway connects the two Marriot properties, you will get embarrassed by JW staff if you try to grab a lounge chair & towels at JW's pool. We got away with this the first day, but they keep track of all guests and we were BUSTED on our next attempt. And yes, they ask you to leave. UNBELIEVEABLE, but true. The beach is NOT good for swimming or playing in the ocean unless you are 5. Surf is too rough. The pool is KEY here in Cancun.

"Want to go back...."
Overwhelming first impression of this hotel. The lobby is just stunning and looking through the glass front at the crystal blue green ocean....it's very exciting. Our room was nicely decorated with very comfy beds and pillows, ample drawer space for me, hubby and two kids. We really had no complaints and were happy as could be while we were there. Cancun was quite a bit more expensive than I was expecting and I worried at first that we were over our heads...room service and the La Isla were both very reasonable and that's where most of our food ended up coming from. I really couldn't believe that room service was so much better and SO much cheaper than going to the restaurant for breakfast. We went to the breakfast buffet one day and it's just not necessary. You feel like you need to over-indulge to get your moneys worth and then you feel like crap for a few hours afterward.

We rented a jeep and drove to Xel-Ha one day. Everyone - do this - do this - do this. It was sooo much fun. We saw awesome fish, we swam with the dolphins, jumped off cliffs, etc. Amazing day!! We got there when they opened and didn't stop all day. Don't do a 1/2 day for this place - you'll be sorry. And definitely take advantage of the all inclusive for "free" lunches and drinks.

We also took a day trip to Isla Muhjeres (sp). GREAT time there too. We went with AquaWorld. Energetic, fun crew. Husband also did diving with this company and he was very happy. 4 dives for $210. (1 night, 1 wreck and 2 local on 4 separate days). The island trip was $50/pp and we felt like it was well worth it.

Another great time we had was at Senor Frogs - probably not the best place to take kids - but we did take our kids and they had a blast.

It was shocking 3 days after we got home to watch CNN and see our hotel getting blown around. I hope all is back to normal by now. We were praying for the rest of you tourists left behind and definitely for our great staff!!! Would definitely recommend CasaMagna to friends and family again and again.

"My Eyes Were Looking At A Dream"
My husband treated me to a surprise get-away-weekend at the Marriott Casa Magna. We are not experienced travelers, and I was initially anxious when searching out a dream hotel. The Casa Magna certainly exceeded all of our expectations. The ambience was break taking. Our room was a beach front view on the 3rd floor. When I stepped out on the spacious balcony it was as though I was looking at a dream.

This resort hotel was so relaxing and accommodating that we never ventured from the property the entire weekend. I want all of my family and friends to experience the Casa Magna!
