One of the most desirable things to do in the Caribbean is snorkeling in Antigua. Starting from the point of the quaint fisherman’s cottage clubhouse that is located at Seaton’s Village, it will take you by motorboat crossing the Mercer’s Creek to a 144 feet raft where instructors are waiting for any visitor to explore the rich underwater world.
Right after a brief demonstration, the guides will bring you to small uninhabited isles and inlets where schools of fish can be spotted, making it very ideal for snorkeling in Antigua. Aside from the tour, they will also teach about the delicate mangrove ecosystem. This is such a great opportunity to get in touch with Mother Earth and discover the different side of the Caribbean.
Another site not to be missed when snorkeling in Antigua is the North Sound National Park. It is an isolated Bird Sanctuary where you can also marvel over the coral reefs that is home to a diverse variety of fish, sea fans and sponges. This will surely be a photographer’s delight where it promises an attractive vista during the nature trail.
As they say, this twin- sister of Barbuda is said to have “365 beaches for everyday of the year” which is also easy to say that there are hundreds of dazzling spots for snorkeling in Antigua. Here are some of those:
* Carlisle Beach
